Island Wonders
Arrive in Sri Lanka and head to Negombo where you will be spending the first day. Enjoy the sights of this city such as the Dutch Fort by the coast or St. Mary’s Church near the heart of the city.
As day two begins, head to Kandy. You will tour this enchanting city and come across the spirituality that envelops the air. Visit the Holy Temple of the Tooth Relic and explore its splendid interiors where you can find murals, and artefacts as well as locals lighting incense and oil lamps.
Head to Sigiriya on day three for an exciting adventure. First head to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress to explore its stunning frescoes that were drawn centuries prior. The top of this rock fortress allows you to see the surrounding sights of the forests. The next location of your itinerary is Minneriya National Park. You can explore this park which is known to have a large number of elephant herds present. There is an event that takes place during the dry season known as ‘The Gathering’, where many herds of elephants gather at the Minneriya Tank. You can observe up to 700 elephants when this occurrence happens. Finally, take a tour around the village.
Ocean wonders will occur on these two days as you explore the coast and its events. First head to Nilaveli, where you can enjoy an array of activities. Visit The Pigeon Island Marine National Park to take on some diving. You can spend some time relaxing on the beach and enjoy the soft golden sands. Afterwards, head to the Koneswaram Temple to encounter its glorious sights.
Enjoy relaxation on Pasikuda Beach where you can sunbathe, swim and enjoy the soft sand.
Head to Arugam Bay, known for being a relaxing and pristine beach. You can take on a surfing journey After a thrilling conquest against the waves, relax on the beach to stave off the exhaustion.
Head to Yala to enjoy a safari ride through the National Park. This park is the oldest one in Sri Lanka and has a large concentration of leopards. You can find other wildlife such as deer, crocodiles and a large variety of birds.
Head towards the Southern Coast to Unwatuna. You can begin this South Coast journey by heading to the Galle Dutch Fort, known for its UNESCO title as well as Asia’s best-preserved sea fort. Next, head out to the deep sea where you can come across whales on their migratory paths. You can enjoy a simple cooking class that will teach you about the flavours of Sri Lanka.
Explore Colombo on this day. Come across its vivid sights as it contains contemporary and historic buildings all around, such as The Old Parliament Building resides near the Galle Face Green Promenade. You can end the day with the sight of the sunset.
