Your Sri Lankan adventure starts in Colombo where you can spend day one. Spend the night within the energetic city to experience its cultural richness and food diversity along with its spirited atmosphere.
Your itinerary on day two requires a travel journey from Colombo to Sigiriya while visiting some designated locations. While in Dambulla you can visit the Dambulla Cave Temples because this historic place holds importance for religious devotion. The artistic representations of Lord Buddha throughout the site will astonish visitors who visit this area. Travel on to Minneriya National Park to witness ‘The Gathering’ where elephants meet at Minneriya Tank specifically during the dry season of the year. The final stop is Sigiriya because it houses the famous UNESCO Heritage Site known as Sigiriya Rock Fortress which extends 2000 years into the past.
Begin day three with more exciting locations to visit. First, head to Pidurangala, known for having a similar climb to Sigiriya. Go kayaking at Kandalama Lake to enjoy some water-based activities. Finally, tour a Sri Lankan village. Spend the night at your hotel in Sigiriya.
Depart Sigiriya and head to Knuckles. You can explore the Knuckles Mountain Range on this day and come across vivid wildlife and stunning sights. Spend this night in Knuckles.
From Knuckles, head to Kitulgala. This city is famous for white water rafting. Spend two hours on this long journey on the Kelani River and end the day with a swim in the river afterwards. Relax in your hotel.
Head to the Western Coast city of Negombo. You can visit the city once you arrive. Visit the heart of the city where St. Mary’s Church lies or visit the old Dutch Fort by the coast.
Head to the airport to depart Sri Lanka.
