Train to Paradise
As soon as you land on the beautiful island of Sri Lanka, head to the coastal city of Colombo. Start your thrilling and enjoyable drive to Kandy by car. When you arrive, take in the splendour of the Temple of the Tooth Relic. The stunning Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya are home to a diverse array of endemic and native plants and flowers.
To catch a train to Nanu Oya, get up early on the second day and go to the Kandy train station. Journey to this location via the hilly terrain of Sri Lanka. Arrive in Nuwara Eliya, the region that produces Sri Lanka’s famous tea. After that, continue on to Gregory Lake for an exciting boat ride that will allow you to explore Nuwara Eliya. Travel to Ella by train. This is thought to be among the most exquisite and charming train rides in Sri Lanka. The city of Ella combines nature and adventure. Enjoy the stunning surroundings as you travel to the hotel where you will spend the night after arriving in Ella.
Head to Little Adams Peak early on Thursday morning. Trek to the top of this trail for views of Ella Gap. It is imperative that the magnificent spectacle of this location not be missed. Once you’ve had your fill of taking in the scenery head over to the Nine Arches Bridge to experience its breathtaking beauty. This architectural wonder is among Sri Lanka’s most photographed spots.
Travel to Yala on the fifth day to experience its humid surroundings. The city of Yala is situated quite near the coast. You can find a wide variety of animals and birds in this diverse park. In order to preserve the memories of your trip make sure to stop by the Ravana Waterfall en route to Yala. This area is known for having a high density of leopards making it the ideal location for taking pictures of them in action.
Take a car ride from Yala to Mirissa to engage in some water sports. Head out to sea to come across whales and dolphins in migration or spend time near the coastal shallows as you go snorkelling.
Visit this coastal location to go surfing or whale watching. Travel by train to Bentota to explore the Turtle Hatchery and go on a nature excursion down the Madu River.
